RETIREMENT!

(Nicole before leaving for work today)

In typical Nicole fashion I received an email from her last Tuesday that read:

You Are Invited!

Nicole Perry Clawson's
RETIREMENT PARTY

Tuesday, March 31st
Details Will Follow
Hope To See You There

Please RSVP at your earliest convenience...

I couldn't stop laughing. Who thinks of that? Retirement? Really? Can this be considered retirement? I thought it took many many years of work to earn that title. We've only been out of school for two years.

Not for Nicole though. When we first moved out here she planned on only working 2-3 days a week, oh the life a hygienist, but she has gritted her teeth and worked 5. She has put in her time and today is her last day of work! She is leaving the work force as she has paid her dues. I told her this morning she was able to retire because she was old (she is always telling me how old I am and finally I got to tell her), she replied, "No, I just made more money than you." Thanks.

Her patients will miss her. Yesterday she had a guy come in for the first time. When he was leaving he was setting up an appointment with the front office staff to come back and was told Nicole wouldn't be available as she was leaving. Then, out loud for everyone to hear, he told them how frustrating that was because for the first time in his life he had found a hygienist he liked. Two other people who had been to see her before did the same thing yesterday. In fact, most of her patients tried to get one last visit in with her before she left and begged the office manager to make sure she comes back because they don't want to see another hygienist. Nicole is good at her job and will be missed.

I'm proud of you babe! Way to go!

Happy Retirement Nicole! But of course it will be short lived when the real work begins. :) I wish I could attend. You are so cute and so funny. I hope you guys have fun. The new stroller looks good.

Oh, you didn't tell us she was a good hygienist. That changes everything. All this time we thought she was one of those floss nazis. All these years we haven't owned up to being bad flossers.

Congratulations on your retirement. I'm jealous of your Spencer funded pension plan. I wish I had one of those.

We can't wait to meet the girls. How exciting.
