We have finally made it to the big city! The blog would have been updated sooner but we just got internet access yesterday. For those of you who have tried to call us you know as well that we haven't been able to use our phones as we don't get reception in the apartment. We were supposed to get a phone line installed yesterday but due to technical issues will have to wait till tomorrow or Tuesday.
Everything with the move went great. We got here Tuesday morning and our friends who were driving the rental truck out got here in the afternoon. We had everything in the apartment by evening and the four of us went out to eat at a barbeque restaurant Nicole and I had found when we were here looking for the apartment.
Since Tuesday we have been working on unpacking. We would would have been done by now but have run out of room to put our stuff. Before moving we got rid of a lot of stuff, though it seems not enough given the small amount of room we have here.
Our aparment is small, however it is all new and it is ours. For those of you that don't know we found an apartment on 65th Street just 100 feet from the temple. We happend to look on Craigslist at just the right time and found this apartment which was being completely redone.
Our apartment is by everything we could need: A Barnes and Noble half a block away, Bed Bath & Beyond 200 feet away (this has proved to be very useful), all sorts of great restaurants within only a few blocks, Central Park is only half a block, the Temple and church is only 100 feet from us, the subway is steps away, Time Warner shopping mall which has Williams Sonoma (Nicole is trying to get a job there), Whole Foods, and many other great stores, and the movie theater is only a block away. We couldn't have hoped for a better spot.
